Poll Results: ATV Today readers want Torchwood to return
ATV Today readers want to see the return of Torchwood over any possible new Doctor Who spin-off.
Last month Steven Moffat ruled out the possibility of another spin-off from Doctor Who – for now. So we decided to ask our readers if they wanted to see another spin-off from Doctor Who or if they’d like to see the return of Torchwood – the spin-off starring John Barrowman and Eve Myles.
Well the results are conclusive: ATV Today readers want to see Torchwood back as it got 48.9% of the vote. However, our readers were very clear – in the comments section – about just which style of Torchwood they want back; the first two seasons.
The recent Torchwood: Miracle Day did not go down well, seemingly, with the our readers who preferred the two seasons of Torchwood. Perhaps unsurprisingly many of the voters wanted to see Ianto (Gareth David-Lloyd) revived from the dead but many readers also wanted to see the return of Tosh (Naoki Mori) and Owen (Burn Gorman) as well.
Tosh and Owen were killed off in the second season finale while Ianto was killed off in the penultimate episode of Children of Earth – a death which prompted a huge back lash from fans of Torchwood.
