American singer and music producer Robin Thicke suggested on Daybreak this morning Wimbledon winner Andy Murray should cut a record with him.
The Blurred Lines singer told Lorraine earlier today,
I think I’m going to do a remix with Andy Murray!
Following the themes of Thicke’s hit single, Lorraine Kelly suggested the video be full of ‘beautiful girls in various tennis outfits with rackets strategically placed’. Robin said he liked the idea and asked Lorraine:
Would you be in it?
He later applauded the incredible tennis win exclaiming,
Congratulations to Andy… congratulations buddy!
Prime Minister David Cameron later told fellow ITV show This Morning how Murray winning Wimbeldon, the first Brition for over seventy years, was a ‘dream come true’ he also discussed the sports star being bestowed a royal gong.
I’m a huge tennis fan and a big Andy Murray fan and did we dare to dream it was possible? And yesterday was just a dream come true, it was incredible…the quality of the game was amazing.
I don’t really have much of a role in [Knighthood selection], I can make a few suggestions…I can’t think of anyone who deserves recognition more right now than the person who has ended this 77-year drought [for a man to win].
BBC Sport will also be celebrating. The beeb’s coverage of the straight-set victory in the Men’s final at Wimbledon yesterday saw a peak audience of 17.3 million on BBC One. It is the highest audience for the sporting event since 1980.
