Zach Sobiech may or may not be someone you’ve heard of. Over three million people have tuned to his music on You Tube alone. Zach was an 18 year old diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer who decided in his final months to turn to music to raise money for cancer research. It proved to be a successful venture.
Zach sadly died earlier today. Below is a short documentary in a series entitled My Last Days. He may not have been an over tanned shallow zelebrity like those found on TOWIE – baying for attention with terrible merchandise and vain publicity stunts – but that doesn’t make him any less worth celebrating, in fact, I’d say he’s worth celebrating far more than those sort of fame seekers. I mean the big difference between the two is Zach had a definable talent…
Zach’s song, ‘Clouds’ is available on iTunes and other online music stores. The proceeds benefit the Zach Sobiech Research Fund of Children’s Cancer Research Fund. http://www.childrenscancer.org/zach
My Last Days is part of a series of documentaries which can be found on You Tube. Others include the story of Shane Burcaw a 20 year old diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy as a baby and Ryan Woods who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma.
