An unlikely friendship is stuck up between Darleen who lives in sheltered accommodation and the elderly and lonely Diane.

Darleen lives in sheltered housing believing it is a temporary arrangement until she can move back home to be with her mother, Treena. Darleen visits her old friend Jamie one day at a care home for the elderly where he works as a cleaner. There she meets Diane, a lonely woman who is estranged from her daughter. Darleen and Diane become friends and Diane encourages Darleen to go on a date with Jamie and also to make a present for her mothers birthday but in life not everything is smooth running in friendships.
