Drury and Beglin contracts not to be renewed at ITV?

Rumors are circulating that ITV Sport commentator Peter Drury and football pundit Jim Beglin may not be offered new contracts after Euro 2012.

ITV are rumoured to be cutting production costs and next season are moving their Champions League coverage to Tuesday nights, part of a new contract with Sky Sports. Along with this ITV are continuing with Europa League coverage leading to the possibility of first choice commentator Clive Tyldesley doing Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

At the moment ITV use a number of freelance commentators including Steve Bower, Jim Proudfoot and Sam Matterface to cover extra games in the Europa League, Champions League and FA Cup, further posts and debate on forums suggest Drury (and Beglin) could continue working in similar roles but simply not on ITV’s books.
