Today in Summer Bay…
Cash is getting desperate as Dana remains missing and Madden is now unaccounted for – they’re running out of time. At the shack where he’s holding Dana, Madden dismisses Fletcher and goads Dana as he administers the lethal dose. As Dana begins to lose consciousness, Madden begins to pen her suicide letter.
At the station, Rose has managed to get a trace on Dana’s phone call to Harper and the race is on to get to her. As the police close in on the abandoned shack, Madden quickly puts the finishing touches on staging Dana’s overdose. By the time the cops barrel in, a conniving Madden has begun his ruse of trying to “revive” Dana, claiming he found her unconscious. “You’re not going get away with this”, Cash warns Madden, but he remains cocky.
As Bree works to save Dana, a distraught Harper rails – this was Madden, there’s no way her sister would overdose. She pleads with an unconscious Dana – “Please wake up” and by some miracle she does. Rose conveys the news to Cash, and he wastes no time arresting Madden, while Harper remains at Dana’s bedside – she had a lot of Fentanyl in her system, and she’s not out of the woods yet.
As Madden’s henchman Fletcher is led away in handcuffs, it’s a good result for resolution for the Dana case, but Rose issues Cash with a warning – What was he thinking breaking the rules like this? Rose doesn’t mince her words with Harper later. Or when she drops a truth bomb on Irene – Rose thinks the DPP will want to press charges against Irene, Harper and Cash. And if they do, they could all be looking at jail time.
