ATV Today readers want another season of Torchwood

The majority of ATV Today readers would like to see a new season of Torchwood.

For the past week we’ve been running a poll to find out whether or not readers of ATV Today would like to see a fifth season of the Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood starring John Barrowman and Eve Myles. The poll comes after Torchwood: Miracle Day concluded its ten-part run on BBC One and Starz with the future of the series unclear.

Torchwood: Miracle Day met with a mixed reaction from viewers and critics alike which perhaps explains why our poll result reveals that while the majority would like to see another season it would have to be with changes – addressing the criticisms levelled at Miracle Day. In all 44% of those who voted said they’d like to see another series but with changes. However, a sizable 30% of voters didn’t want to see another series at all. 24.1% of readers said yes without any conditions while just 1% wanted to see a Torchwood movie.

In all there were just over 45,000 votes cast in the poll which was open for seven days. Now Torchwood fans must wait to find the fate of the series and the news might not be quick coming either. Between Children of Earth and Miracle Day there was a gap of two years……
