ATV Sport’s Brand New Exciting Feature
ATV Today’s Callum Patterson tells you about his weekly sports talk programme coming to ATV Sport.
Hi there, as you may know I am Callum Patterson, and I head the ATV Sports area of this website.
I have been here for over a year and a half providing sports broadcasting and news stories. You may well know from earlier articles I am a community radio presenter at TD1 Radio in the Borders. Since September last year I still occasionally present there (including a busy boxing day programme with lots of football updates) however I am living in Glasgow over the next year or two studying radio further and I have became involved with student radio station City Radio.
City Radio, run by the City of Glasgow College, airs 12-1pm Monday to Friday and Monday to Thursday in the evenings between 5.30pm and 7.45pm
Since late November on Wednesday nights between 5.30pm and 6.15pm I have been part of a sports talk programme titled ‘Scores on the doors’ Andrew Wood and I present with Analysis/3rd man being Kevin Adams. We talk football from Scotland and England, have a dedicated Scottish Rugby round up, NFL, Tennis and other big sporting stories including broadcasting stories (an example being in our first show in late 2011 talking about the BBC/Sky Formula 1 Deal).
The secret of the programme was to have a big chunk of football but leave a good chunk of time to talk other sport, especially in an old firm centric city of Glasgow. Although this is student radio, we all wanted to take this programme seriously like a sports or commercial radio, I made this an imperative rule!
