Alan Hansen Apologises for ‘Coloured’ comment

Former footballer and current BBC Match of the Day pundit has apologised today after referring to different ethnic minority players as ‘coloured’.

Hansen was making the comments live on Match of the Day last night talking about the serious cases of Luis Suarez of Liverpool being banned for eight matches because of racist comments made on the pitch and Chelsea Captain John Terry facing trial over Racial abuse against Anton Ferdinand.

Twitter went mad after the comments and due to this it looks like on that along, the BBC has asked Hansen to apologise earlier today…

“I unreservedly apologise for any offence caused. This was never my intention and I deeply regret the use of the word”
