Pick of the Plots: Monday February 20th

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Monday.

The new week begins in Weatherfield with Peter explaining to Ken how desperate Toyah is for a baby and persuades him to lend him the money for a consultation at a private fertility clinic. When Peter announces he’s booked an appointment for this afternoon, Toyah’s thrilled. But when she witnesses Leanne forgiving Eva for her part in keeping Toyah and Peter’s relationship a secret, a jealous Toyah follows Leanne into the Victoria Court lift, where she rails at her for her jibe about her not being a mum. Suddenly the lift judders to a halt. Having discovered the alarm isn’t working and there’s no phone signal, the girls start to panic, especially when Leanne’s waters break!

Elsewhere After spending the night at Nathan’s, Bethany returns home and lies to Sarah and Gary, telling them that someone nicked her phone and she crashed on Mel’s sofa. But when Rana and Kate enquire after Bethany and reveal that they found her drunk in town before heading off with some bloke who she knew, Sarah’s fuming.

In the second visit to the cobbles tonight we find Nathan is luring Bethany deeper into his world. Sarah confronts her daughter about her goings on, who under pressure admits she stayed at Nathan’s flat, he’s her boyfriend and he rescued her when she collapsed.  While at Cathy’s suggestion, Brian cooks Roy’s favourite meal and apologises for failing to pull his weight. Will Roy relent and agree he can stay?

Plans are afoot for Robert and Aaron to tie the knot, but with it proving tricky to get an unsuspecting Aaron in the right place at the right time, Cain is forced to step in with strong-arm tactics. Meanwhile, Paddy expresses his disapproval.

Later, Aaron is happy when he finds out the plan, and soon the stage is set for the wedding to take place. However, the ceremony is interrupted by the police.

Elsewhere, David’s plan to spice things up with Tracy backfires; Sarah lets slip she’s to be treated in Prague; Zak and Lisa reluctantly include Kerry as they go to social services to try and get Kyle back.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

John Paul is stunned when Ste reveals that he thinks he and Harry are over.

Joel sets up a ‘burgers and bikes’ fundraiser. Leela gets rid of Cameron’s biking gear. Joel recruits Cleo to help with the fundraiser but he’s floored when he’s faced with Shane. Later, Zack comes to Leela’s rescue when she’s being hounded by journalists at Cameron’s sentencing. He asks her on a night out with him.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

As Ayesha tries to get Al to study pop magazines after his failure in the pub quiz, Al denounces the shallowness of celebrity culture and claims he’d be the ideal candidate for the solitary mission to Mars. Doubtful, Ayesha makes a bet can’t even go the lunch break without human or social media contact. But when Mrs Tembe receives shocking news, she bursts into his office, much to Al’s annoyance – this had better be good. She’s sorry to say that his father has died suddenly. Al is floored, he doesn’t know how to react. The practice rallies round him but Al, for once, can’t deal with the attention. As Al drives off reluctantly to see his mother, Mrs Tembe and Emma worry if he’ll be okay.

Emma’s on cloud nine after her weekend away with. Lena, however, starts to feel uncomfortable around husband Steven. She repeatedly has to cover her tracks with half-truths. When Steven finds her sexy lingerie and accuses her of having an affair, Lena is quick to deny she’s seeing another man. A conciliatory Steven overcompensates for his error, but his solicitousness drives Lena to the edge. She blurts out that she is having an affair – with Emma. Steven issues an ultimatum: him or Emma. When Lena shows up at the Mill in tears, Emma realises she might be in over her head.
