Pick of the Plots: Friday January 20th

SoapWorld takes a look at the goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Friday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

As the police probe Kevin about the fire, Steph points out his unlikely culpability as it would jeopardise any insurance claim. Her words spur Tyrone into telling the police that Kevin was in no fit state to have torched the garage. When Kevin is released, Tyrone rejects his gratitude, making it clear he’s acted in the best interests of his family only.

Promising Steph that he’ll meet her at the airport, Andy sets about going through all the CCTV footage, in a bid to get Kevin off the hook. As he comes across Phelan admitting to Todd that he was behind the building scam, he’s interrupted by Phelan who spies himself on the screen and is furious that the laptop hasn’t been destroyed. Andy covertly presses record on his phone and entices Phelan into talking about his assorted wrongdoings but Phelan smells a rat and things quickly escalate. Meanwhile Eileen waits nervously for Phelan at the Register Office, while Steph continues to sweat at the airport.

Liz is upset to realise Michelle is still cold-shouldering Steve, after Billy calls in to discuss Ruairi’s funeral arrangements. Liz talks to Michelle about her own agony at losing baby Katy and how important it was for she and Jim to stay strong as a couple. Michelle apologises to Steve for cutting him out of the funeral arrangements and asks him to move back home.

Elsewhere, Nathan smarms up to Bethany as he films her doing a tutorial and suggests that next time, she should show a bit of her killer body; David’s intrigued when Shona reveals that she’s working in the café and has moved in with Billy and Todd; and Sally is horrified when Tim makes a purchase.

After finding out that she was at the hospital, Louis suspects that it was Simone, however is relieved when at Lisa’s birthday party it transpires it wasn’t Simone after all.

Meanwhile, Cameron is panicked when Cleo confronts him about Celine. Leela’s delighted when Peri decides to stay in the village, but it’s on the condition that they go to Aunt Libby’s cabin for a girly weekend. However, it’s all Cameron’s idea – he wants to get Leela alone because he was the one who heard her and Louis. Jealous Mac reveals that Cleo helped Nathan pick out Lisa’s birthday present and Lisa is raging.

Elsewhere, Nancy and Darren are shattered when the Dr. confirms that Nancy has relapsing/remitting multiple sclerosis.
