Editor Reports: Another nail in Dollhouse’s Coffin?

The opening episode of the second series of Dollshouse rated worse than any other episode of the run so far, is it another nail in the show’s coffin?

Dollhouse returned to American on Friday with even lower ratings than it went away with. The opening episode of Joss Whedon’s series was seen by just 2.6 million viewers and what’s even worse is the ratings actually declined across the episode.

The figure is the lowest rating for the series so far and that’s saying something considering how bad the first series rated for Fox. Many critics had written off the series as a dead cert for cancellation but Fox renewed it in the hope that ratings would improve – on the face of the first episode however they’ve gotten worse.

Is that another nail in Dollhouse’ coffin we can hear being banged in or will Joss Whedon surprise the critics once more by turning around the fortunes of his show? Or will Dollhouse be cancelled just like everyone thought it would be just months ago? To find out the answer you’ll have to watch this space!
