We pondered on whether the football would rate higher than the soap or not. In our minds we doubt it and we should have put some money on it because we would have won – it was a disaster for ITV. There are no other words to describe the pitiful ratings the football mustered. While Coronation Street usually enjoys 8 to 10 million viewers on Friday evening the football match pulled in just 1.9 million viewers. As our American cousins say – do the maths.
