Eye Spy 30: Mia Spoof

Undoubtedly one of the few highlights of this year’s Come Relief telethon was French and Saunders take on the smash hit movie, Mamma Mia. The spoof wonderfully sent up the movie, the songs and its stars and is a fitting end to the collaboration between the two comedians as French and Saunders call time on their sketch show. So it’s rather fitting that we should chose it to end the current run of Eye Spy as this is our final edition, barring any specials we may decide to throw at you, until the summer. But just because we’re taking a break doesn’t mean you can’t send in your suggestions for You Tube videos and Silly Stories for us to include next time around. French and Saunders have done some great parodies over the many years they have worked together. From their sending up of Silence of the Lambs to Lord of the Rings, Titanic and Cold Mountain, the duo have spared few from there wonderful spoofs. For Comic Relief they got back together one final time to send up Mamma Mia and it proved to be one of the few highlights of the Comic Relief telethon. So we’ve decided to make it our video for this week. The spoof is stripped across two clips so you’ll have to click on part two after the first one ends.

Top Silly Story:

A story sure to get a giggle out of you is the mystery of a gift-wrapped post box in Edinburgh – sounds like a Poirot novel is you are honest but it’s completely true. Royal Mail in Scotland is baffled by a post box that has been wrapped in gift paper complete with a giant red bow! No one knows who wrapped the post box up or why although Royal Mail suspect a prank – well what else would it be? I doubt the mystery wrapper seriously thought Royal Mail would send the gift-wrapped present to someone!

Can you spot what’s wrong with the bus in this image? An amused passerby sent us the photo as we had recently covered, on a few occasions, stories concerning posters on buses and thought the image would be of interest to us.
