The annual bonanza of the bizarre, camp and dam right barmy is now over as Eurovision 2009 is won by Norway. We take a look back at this year’s competition, held in Moscow, which once more feature a line-up that would raise eye brows even at a SF convention!
Eurovision 2009 might have featured the expected line-up of barmy acts with barely understandable lyrics but Political/Bloc Voting wasn’t so much of a feature as the competition brought back the Jury system to compliment the tele-voting!
Yes away from the hands of those pesky Europeans who like to vote for their neighbours half of the voting power was transferred over to juries for each country – which actually meant that we got some points! In fact we got a lot of points and ended fifth – just demonstrating the sheer effect political/geographical bloc voting had one the competition.
Below are just some images from last night’s competition which was held in Moscow. Yes Norway might have won with a tame song, compared to some entries, but the night is still worth celebrating and marking!
