Majority of ATV Today readers disagree with axing of ABC soaps

The majority of ATV Today readers think ABC were wrong to axe All My Children and One Life to Live.

Since April 18th ATV Today has been asking our readers to vote in a poll to see if they agreed or not with ABC’s decision to cancel two of its three remaining soaps. The broadcaster announced the cancellation of AMC and OLTL a few weeks ago seeking to replace them with cheaper life style programmes. Fans of both soaps have started various campaigns to try and save each serial.

It would seem ATV Today readers are on the side of the fans as a whopping 86.8% of those who voted disagreed with ABC’s cancellation. A huge and clear majority of our readers. Just 9.6% agreed with ABC’s cancellation of both daytime soaps while 3.5% though the broadcaster should only have axed one of the soaps.

All My Children will end in September while One Life to Live will come off air in January.
