Earlier this week CBS soap The Bold and the Beautiful revealed its brand new opening titles; filming in HD and using state of the art technology they are quite unlike anything else at the moment – but do you like them?
The new titles represent only the third time The Bold and the Beautiful has completely overhauled its opening titles. From its launch in 1987 through to 2004 the soap’s opening titles comprised of still photographs – in the style of a glossy fashion magazine – of the main cast. The photographs of cast members such as Susan Flannery and Katherine Kelly Lang remained unchanged for the entire duration of those titles! In 2004 the soap revealed a brand new opening sequence, complete with reworked theme tune, with live action as the cast appeared in the titles credited with their character names and the actors names.
The new opening titles continue the fashion theme which has been present in the two previous sets of opening titles. The brand new titles are set at a fashion show with all the main cast appearing watching the show unfold – the “core-four” appear first and are given top billing; Susan Flannery, Ronn Moss, Katherine Kelly Lang and John McCook. Following the “core four” the other characters are presented in “blocks” or “cores” such as the Logan family or Taylor (Hunter Tylo) and her family. The full names of the characters are also given such as Brooke Logan Forrester rather than just Brooke Forrester. The theme tune has also been completely overhauled for the new titles.
But what do you think off the new titles? Do you like them or do you prefer the old set or even the original opening titles? And what off the new theme tune? Voting couldn’t be simpler.
