Jordan met up with the RNLI Chiswick Lifeboat Station crew…
Today on This Morning, Jordan North joined the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in a special feature on the show to raise awareness of the life-saving work they do.
In December 2024 while out on a run, Jordan was helped by the RNLI after saving a dog who had fallen into the water. Raising awareness for water safety, Jordan revisited the location of his rescue and recounted the incident where he got stuck on a beam after saving the Labrador.
Jordan explained: “So, this is where I got rescued. I was running along there… That’s when I saw the lady that was pretty distressed and then I looked over and could see that the dog was struggling, climbed over that fence there, came down here, and was trying to get the dog to swim here but he was struggling.
“So I was going, ‘Here boy, here boy’ and then stupidly walked over there. And I don’t know how I actually managed to get across there, because looking at that now in the daylight, I could have quite easily fallen in. That’s when I managed to get the dog, and that’s when I thought, ‘Oh, I’m in trouble here’ and that’s when these guys [the RNLI] came.”

Participating in a training session with the RNLI Chiswick Lifeboat Station crew, Jordan highlighted the crucial role of the charity – who last year celebrated their 200th anniversary of safeguarding the UK coastline and River Thames – and showcasing the incredible work of RNLI volunteers, carried out a lifesaving rescue drill with a dummy floating on the water as the crew showed him what it takes to perform a safe and effective rescue on the River Thames.
Experiencing firsthand the role of lifesavers, Jordan said: “Since the RNLI charity was first founded in 1824, they have saved over 146,000 lives including my own and the Labrador… From me and that lovely dog, thank you so much.”
