Matt Allwright steps into Channel 5’s Storm slot

Storm Huntley reveals Matt Allwright will cover her Channel 5 morning show during her parental leave…

Storm Huntley:

“I’ve been sitting here every weekday morning for the last two years so it’s going to feel very strange to shake up that routine. However, it’s made much easier knowing my precious TV baby will be in the safe hands of Matt Allwright while I’m off looking after my actual human babies. I’ll be watching – you never know, I might even phone in!”

Storm Huntley posted a clip on her Instagram account this morning revealing that Matt Allwright will be hosting her Channel 5 morning show while she’s on parental leave. Storm will sign off on Friday 7^th March after which a rota of Channel 5 favourites will take the reins for three weeks before Matt takes on the slot as a regular Monday to Thursday host from April 7th.

Fridays will be kept open to welcome an exciting line-up of new and familiar faces to the show.

“I’m such a huge admirer of what Storm and the team do every single morning, so it’s going to be a lot of fun looking after the show while she’s on parental leave. I’m looking forward to debating some of the big issues of the day with our panellists – and also hearing what our brilliant callers have to say. I’m going to try to make it just as lively, engaging and topical as ever while Storm’s away.”
