Soap Weekly: Roxy is up to no good in Neighbours

Soap highlights for the coming week from River City, Neighbours and Home and Away…

This week in Shieldinch with Jonathon discharged from hospital, Mikey fears his husband will remember the details of his accident. Gillian and Mulvaney are more concerned that Jonathon’s faking his amnesia and decide to keep an eye on him. Back at the flat, Mikey fusses over Jonathon as he struggles to settle. Mikey’s irked when Gillian and Mulvaney arrive unexpectedly, worried they’re interfering. When Gillian takes a moment to talk to Jonathon alone, she starts to doubt her suspicions. However, when Jonathon snaps at Mikey, Mulvaney makes a bold decision – one which will put Jonathon under the spotlight.

Elsewhere, Sam is perplexed when Maggie urges him to speak to Chloe but refuses to divulge any details. Concerned, Sam turns to Seb who suggest looking for clues in Chloe’s bag – only for them to be caught red-handed holding a baby scan. Forced to tell the truth, Chloe’s delighted by how supportive Sam is about her pregnancy but taken aback when he tells her she’s wrong to cut Conor out of the picture. Relaying his own personal experience of fatherhood, Sam urges Chloe to think again.

Madonna’s attempts to make amends with Dean fall flat and he makes it clear he’s not forgiven her. Carly witnesses their tense exchange and offers words of support and the perfect pick-me-up – a girls shopping trip.

With his football trial fast approaching, Drew’s stunned to discover Caitlin accidentally washed away his illicit painkillers. Dean berates Drew for buying drugs from a dealer, urging caution. However, his advice isn’t welcomed and Drew dishes out some nasty comebacks to his shocked friend. Later, after discovering Karen blurted out his secret to Caitlin, Drew feels betrayed. When his mother insists on taking him to training, Drew’s embarrassed by her fussing and fears his footballing dreams are over once and for all.

Also this week, Sam presses Chloe to tell Conor about the pregnancy. When she digs her heels in, Sam issues her an ultimatum – tell Conor by the end of the day, or he will. Chloe finally reveals all to Conor who is stunned but jumps to the wrong conclusion about their future plans. Unsettled by his reaction, Chloe makes a big decision.

Sensing Mikey’s unease, Jonathon urges him to open up about their relationship. Mikey reluctantly reveals that their marriage was sometimes fraught, and Jonathon was physically abusive. Stunned, Jonathon reassures Mikey he’s a changed man. However, Mikey is carrying his own guilt for past actions.

This week in Erinsbrough Max’s paranoia that Carter is coming for him reaches breaking point. After venting his fears to his cousin Roxy, he begs Andrew to help him find an answer one way or the other. While he waits for Andrew to contact a colleague in Queensland, Max resolves to protect Sadie and Holly by staying home while they go out on the town. But someone has been watching them from afar, and when Holly and Sadie hit the club, one of Carter’s henchmen zeroes in on who he thinks is Max’s girlfriend…

Aaron, Byron and Clint are devastated to see Jane accept defeat after being suspended from the school. Hoping to cheer her up, they plan a romantic dinner for her and Clint, but Clint quickly realises that what’s got Jane in the doldrums isn’t her suspension, but the potential end of her friendship with Terese. He makes a call, and despite her feelings about Clint, Terese comes round for an honest heart to heart with Jane. Their friendship back on track, Jane thanks Clint with an enthusiastic invitation to the bedroom. Roxy ends her first day at Eirini Rising by effortlessly soothing an altercation with Moira. Terese is effusive in her thanks, and when Roxy reveals she’s been looking for a challenge, Terese assures her she’s in the right place. But as much as Terese is loving having Roxy in town, Holly can’t wait for her to leave.

Nicolette interrupts the Varga-Murphys again, only making Cara uncomfortable as talk turns to Nicolette and Maddy. Then, after hearing news of Sadie’s disappearance, and coming to terms that Chelsea doesn’t want to be found, Cara makes the decision to drop the search for her sister. The decision throws Nicolette, who later apologises for overstepping into Cara’s business. Cara is reflective, hopeful she and her sister may rebuild their relationship one day in the distant future…

While Taye initially impresses with the deal he’s brokered to book a popular jazz crooner to perform at the Piano Bar, things go south when Taye realises he’s made an error, with the artist demanding a fee triple what he’d first thought. Panicking and desperate not to lose his job, or his family’s approval, Taye asks Fallon to help him get the money from Krista. When Fallon refuses, firmly against asking her sister for money, Taye gives a shocking ultimatum – find a way or he’ll tell Krista everything.

Jane has a meeting coming up at the school to discuss the matter of her suspension and her nerves are high, knowing if she loses her job for dating one of her staff it’ll be nigh on impossible to get another principal role elsewhere. Clint is also still under suspicion for stealing the missing cleaning supplies, which only makes it harder for Jane to justify her decision to date him. Nicolette points out that Jane still has a day to find something which might clear Clint’s name.

Byron urges that her time would be better spent preparing what she wants to say in the meeting, but Jane becomes fixed on the idea of clearing Clint, fiercely protective of him and sure he’s been falsely accused. Jane and Nicolette find some cut priced cleaning supplies for sale online and follow the trail, hoping this will lead them to their thief… and it does… but unfortunately for Jane it leaves her left feeling stupid, embarrassed and betrayed.

Roxy is pleased to discover a draft resignation letter in Susan’s files. She subtly questions Terese about Susan’s commitment to the business and although Terese assures her Susan is one hundred percent on board, Roxy secretly believes it may be otherwise. Later she tries to persuade Kyle that now is the time to move back to Erinsborough – since a great opportunity is opening up here – but he’s not so keen on the idea. She consults Aaron for advice on persuading a partner to move, and he believes if a move is the best thing for the whole family, Kyle will come around… She pretends to be reassured, but it’s not quite the unqualified endorsement of her plan Roxy was privately hoping for.

Amazon Prime, Monday to Thursday from 7.30am

This week in Summer Bay a fraught Eden confides in Kirby – everything’s such a mess. She doesn’t know whether to believe Cash or Tim. At the police station, Tim opts not to make a report about Cash, but Rose lays down the law with him regardless – why is he riding this guy so hard?

At the Surf Club, Abigail tells Eden not to bother when she tries to talk to her, and she’s surprised when Cash offers to buy her a coffee. Cash tells Nerida that Abigail is thinking of lodging a complaint. Would she consider this as well?

Remi and Bree find Roo. They tell her that they’ve heard about what’s going on with the bait shop, and they want to help however they can. Roo, however, is surprisingly resistant to the idea: she tells them that fixing it up would cost upwards of thirty five thousand dollars, and despite Remi saying he can afford to help out easily, she rejects their offer. Remi and Bree are stunned, and Bree in particular is hurt. Remi tells Roo that it’s not right that she’s doing this just to get back at Bree. Besides, Alf is the one who’s losing out on a lot of help because of it. Does she really want him to be in the line of fire? Realising this, Roo has a change of heart. She accepts their offer, and Remi and Bree are elated.
