Star Radio Cambridgeshire to become part of the Hits Radio network

Bauer Media Audio UK has agreed to acquire Star Radio in Cambridgeshire…

Following a period of transition, the station will rebrand to Hits Radio (Cambridgeshire) seeing a final farewell to the local offering of Star Radio.

Freddie Scherer, Managing Director at Star Radio:

“We’d like to thank the staff, listeners, advertisers and the Cambridgeshire community for the privilege of providing a radio service for the past 24 years.”

The changes bring exciting new content to the Star Radio offering in the area with a network offering for Cambridgeshire, along with listeners across the county, will be able to start their day with Fleur East, get home with Gemma Atkinson and spend their evenings with Sam Thompson.

The new Hits Radio for Cambridgeshire will continue to offer listeners news and information local to the region.

The acquisition marks further growth for Bauer Media Audio’s Hits Radio Network, which recently celebrated its best ever audience of more than 7.2million weekly listeners (RAJAR Q3 2024).
