The prizes include two professional recording sessions with BBC Radio Scotland, a coveted spot at Scotland’s largest music festival, TRNSMT, and a bespoke PR campaign.
Submissions close on Monday, 27th January 2025, at 8pm. Artists can enter now by uploading a track to the BBC Introducing Uploader, tagging it “Scotland 2025.” Full terms and privacy details can be found at bbc.co.uk/radioscotland.
After the submission period closes, a panel of judges will whittle down the entries to four finalists who will battle it out in front of a live audience, televised by BBC Scotland later in the year.
The talent search officially launched during BBC Introducing in Scotland on Friday, 10th January 2025, on BBC Radio Scotland. The broadcast will feature a live music session from Bottle Rockets, the Glasgow indie-rock band who won the title in 2024. After a standout year of touring and performing at major festivals, they’re ready to hand over the title to the next Scottish Act of the Year.

We were just excited to be there and so to win was amazing! It’s been a mad year for us ever since and we can’t thank everyone at the BBC enough for all the support.”
BBC Introducing in Scotland champions the best unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar music Scotland has to offer every Friday night from 8-10pm on BBC Radio Scotland. This competition represents a vital part of its mission to spotlight emerging Scottish artists and support the country’s thriving music community.
