Strictly Come Dancing sees first for Christmas winner

The BBC One show has seen its first Drag Artist, Tayce, has been crowned the winner of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, alongside her professional dance partner, Kai Widdrington. Dancing a Cha-Cha to Kylie and Dannii Minogue’s 100 Degrees, the Christmas champions wowed the judges and the studio audience before lifting the glistening Strictly Christmas star-shaped trophy.

Tayce and Kai were awarded a perfect score for their performance with four 10s from the judges.

Six brand-new celebrities took to the floor for a festive edition of Strictly Come Dancing this Christmas. The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas line-up included, Josh Widdicombe and Karen Hauer, Vogue Williams and Gorka Márquez, Tamzin Outhwaite and Nikita Kuzmin, Billy Monger and Nadiya Bychkova and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Nancy Xu.

Hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman and keeping an eagle eye on every festive footstep were judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Head Judge, Shirley Ballas.

The Christmas special started with a sensational group routine to I Love Christmas from Scrooge, as well as a closing number to I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day by Leona Lewis, both featuring the celebrities and their professional partners.
