Soap stars battle it out in the Bake Off tent

Soap suds mix with cake baking in this festive offering…

It’s Christmas time in the GBBO tent and there could be melodramatic moments as faces from Weatherfield, Walford and the Yorkshire Dales aim for cake creativity.

Also in the tent is Father Christmas himself, Paul Hollywood who is joined by Prue Leith and festive helpers Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond as they all celebrate the joys of the season in true Bake Off style.

In a soap-tacular special, it’s The Cobbles vs Albert Square vs The Farm, as stars from Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale battle it out for the coveted Festive Star Baker crown.

Natalie Cassidy, Chris Bisson, Dean Gaffney, Shobna Gulati and Sheree Murphy take on three festive challenges.

In the Signature, they put their own spin on the traditional yule log, before mastering meringue making in the Technical, as they create delicate Christmas trees. And no Christmas would be complete without a dramatic ending, as the celeb bakers showcase one of their famous soap storylines in biscuit form for the Showstopper. Which celeb will be Queen Vic-torious, and who will just about cobble something together?
