The comedy series begins this week…
Join Belfast comedians Shane Todd and Ciarán Bartlett for a new sketch show that highlights the best of Northern Ireland’s emerging comic talent.
“Chancers is part of BBC Northern Ireland’s commitment to develop and showcase emerging comedy talent and writing. It is directed by Shane Todd and Niall Fegan and produced by Ciarán Bartlett for Fat Panda Media.” – BBC NI
Shane and Ciarán will guide a gifted ensemble of local comedians through a series of clever sketches that delve into the uncomfortable, awkward, and often humorous situations that we all encounter, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. Accompanying them will be Diona Doherty, James McKegney, William Thompson, Aaron Butler, Micky Bartlett, Chloe Bartlett, Tommy McCarthy, Sean McAleavy, Ciaran Franco, Heather Anderson, Talal Jomar, and Freya Holmes.
From cringe-worthy encounters to moments of pure slapstick, the show will feature sketches on the creation of the horse on day six of the universe; the inevitable outbreak of a Mafia war at the hands of a dodgy go-between; bad life and business coaching, and sketches depicting scenes of comedic modern ‘torture’.
“Expect cinematic parodies, surprising twists, and the kind of humour that only Northern Ireland’s comedy scene can deliver.” – BBC NI
