The E4 soap has unleashed items in time for Christmas…
In collaboration with Channel 4, Hollyoaks is to have its own online marketplace where viewers can purchase bespoke designed t-shirts, worn by characters within the show. As the gift-giving season is now here, for the first time the history of the soon-to-be 30 soap Hollyoaks are set to release a new range of products, alongside t shirts their will also be fitted jumpers, oversized jumpers, unisex hoodies, relaxed hoodies and tote bags available.
Eagle-eyed fans will notice that the t shirts are as seen on TV, having already been worn by their favourite characters in the Chester village. The designs are created based on the personalities of a selection of characters, allowing fans who can relate to express themselves. The initial three collections are the following three different characters:
Dillon Ray (played by Nathaniel Dass) – ‘The Truth. Overrated’ collection.
Having always been able to express his authentic self, Dillon has still had to face many difficulties over the past few years, most recently being when his boyfriend Lucas found out that he had secret fathered his sister Leah’s baby… As we all deal with the loss of the beloved couple ‘HayRay’, Dillon may have to rethink his motto ‘The Truth is Overrated’.
Liberty Savage (played by Jessamy Stoddart) – ‘Let’s Grow Girls’ collection.
Fun-loving, free-spirited, hippie-at-heart Liberty Savage always looks on the bright side of life and is rooted in spirituality. If luck would have it, her career is now running a flower store at the Grand Bazaar with bestie/sister Sienna. ‘Let’s Grow Girls’ is definitely Liberty’s mantra, Shania Twain would be proud.
Peri Lomax (played by Ruby O’Donnel) – ‘Girl Math Club’ collection.
From love triangles to teen pregnancy, Peri hasn’t had the best luck during her Hollyoaks tenure, but one things for sure – she’s a girl boss who always comes out on top. A saying we can all relate to, ‘Girl Math’ was originally coined on TikTok as a way of justifying extravagant spends. The fun logic behind the spending is one we are sure has been used many times by our Gen Z Lomax.
Also, in association with Stand Up to Cancer there are some special items on offer too. The Mercedes McQueen ‘Strong, Sexy and Surviving’ collection of t-shirts are set to raise awareness for bowel cancer as the Channel 4 soap continues to air the hard-hitting storyline following Mercedes McQueen, played by Jennifer Metcalfe.
Over the past few months Mercedes has been undergoing treatment for an aggressive form of bowel cancer whilst being a single mother and pillar of support for many of her family and friends.
In a special episode airing tonight (Wednesday 4th December), viewers will see Mercedes’ loved ones rallying around to support her through her next chemotherapy treatment, wearing t-shirts with the graphics ‘Strong, Sexy & Surviving’ in the iconic McQueen leopard print.
Lime Pictures, which makes Hollyoaks, will donate all the profits made from each sale of the Mercedes range to Cancer Research UK in support of the Stand Up To Cancer campaign *
Jennifer Metcalfe:
“I’m really pleased that within the storyline, as well as raising vital awareness, we are able to support Stand Up To Cancer. I think that the statement of the t-shirts sum up everything about Mercedes and how she has approached her treatment for bowel cancer – like she does everything in her life – bold and in her own way.”
