Which stars will be cursed by the unlucky number in their search for profitable antiques?
Two of The Traitors’ most memorable schemers, a pair of Quadrophenia legends, original Gladiators, and the former Speaker of the House of Commons all feature on the line-up of this year’s Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, which has been officially announced this week.
The hit BBC Two factual entertainment series returns on Wednesday 6 November for its thirteenth series, but the 32 celebs taking part will be hoping not to be cursed by the unlucky number as they go head-to-head to see who can uncover the most interesting antiques and make the most money at auction.
Muslim Alim, BBC Commissioning Editor:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to announce this stellar lineup for the new series of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip. From reuniting Quadrophenia icons Phil Daniels and Leslie Ash, to pitting The Traitors’ master manipulators Harry Clark and Paul Gorton against each other again.”
The first episode will see GMTV princess Anthea Turner return for her second Road Trip adventure, after first appearing on the show seven years ago. This time around, she’s joined by comedian pal, Darren Harriott, who she met on E4’s The Real Dirty Dancing in 2022.
Episode two sees a return of two memorable schemers from hit BBC reality series, The Traitors. Harry Clark blagged his way to the £95,000 prize in the second series of the show earlier this year, beating fellow Traitor, Paul Gorton – but which of the two will blag the best deals on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip?
This year’s eclectic line-up also features former Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, who’ll go up against Olympic gold medallist, Sally Gunnell, while two stars of the original Gladiators series – Jet (Diane Youdale) and Hunter (James Crossley) – will be hoping they don’t bite the dust in the auction room.
Elsewhere on the line-up, it’s reunions aplenty as The Young Ones stars Alexei Sayle and Nigel Planer hit the road; Quadrophenia legends Phil Daniels and Leslie Ash get back together 45 years after the cult film was released; and reality veterans Charlotte Crosby and Louie Spence reunite after becoming friends during their stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2013.
Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, which is produced by STV Studios and has been a staple of BBC Two and iPlayer’s autumn schedule since 2011, sees pairs of famous faces travelling across the UK alongside some of the country’s finest antiques experts to hunt for hidden treasures and compete to see who can auction them off for the most money.
Muslim Alim, BBC Commissioning Editor:
“The chemistry between our paired celebrities promises to make this thirteenth series our most entertaining yet. Get ready for bidding wars, bargain hunts and possibly the first time John Bercow isn’t the loudest voice in the room!”
Celebrity Antiques Road Trip begins on Wednesday 6 November at 7pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
