Tasha Ghouri has flown into favouritism with one bookie to win this year’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing after Saturday night’s opening episode.
Ghouri’s odds have shortened into 3/1 to pick up the Glitterball trophy, followed closely by Chris McCausland at 10/3. JLS member JB Gill is also a contender early on with odds of 9/2.
Meanwhile, Toyah Wilcox was markedly less impressive and has been heavily backed to be the first eliminated, with her odds shortening dramatically from 9/1 to 11/8.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps:
“Tasha Ghouri lit up the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom in her debut performance in Saturday’s opening show and has shot into favouritism to win the 2024 series as a result. Ghouri has now surged to the top of the betting with odds of 3/1 to go the distance and lift the Glitterball trophy, edging out both Chris McCausland (10/3) and JB Gill (9/2) as the new favourite.
“At the opposite end of the market, Toyah Wilcox’s shaky tango appears to have increased her chances of an early exit. Priced at 9/1 before Saturday, she’s now been backed into 11/8 to be the first contestant eliminated this week.”
