The event is brought to you by AAJA, South East London’s community radio station, record label and hub…
AAJA has announced the full, 150 strong, 2024 line-up for Creekside Festival taking place this Saturday 7 September – a day to night gathering across 17 venues in Deptford, South East London. Plus – a special after party at The Albany Theatre, headlined by classic rave sound maker – L Major b2b Frazer Ray.
New additions to the festival also include one of the UK’s most diverse and influential DJ’s bringing soulful underground club sounds – Alexander Nut, dubstep revolutionary and South London local – Crazy D, as well as one of the foundations of Drum & Bass, the award-winning – DJ Flight b2b with Digital. They will be joining the already announced DJS – Freshta, Lady Passion, Steve O’Sullivan, and Yosh. Huge!
Creekside Festival has teamed with independent music venues across Deptford taking part inc. AAJA’s very own AAJA Snake Pit, AAJA Bar + event space, Artworks Courtyard, The Birds Nest, The Bunker Club, Buster Mantis, Catford Rum Arrangé, The Endeavour, Isla Ray, Jam Circus, Jazu, Strong Arm Steady, Open 205, Upside Down Records, and Villages Brewery. Plus – a very special union with Deptford’s much loved arts hub, The Albany, with Creekside curation in both their theatre and garden providing a huge outdoor space for tunes and those late-Summer feelings.
Food vendors available on the day will be Big John’s Biltong Bar, Buster Mantis, Cafe Del Nido, Cheese Steaks, Jazu, Harlans, Lai Cha Bubble Tea, Watergate, + more.
Each venue, an intimate space, will play host to a set of crews thoughtfully curated by AAJA including party hosts themselves – AAJA, creative community broadcast platform and event space, as well as AAJA Italy, Asha Sound System, Botanica Zoo, Cheeky Sound System, Dancing Family, Dear Boss, Decisive Sounds, Funky Adjacent, Marbles, Supernature, Trinomic, Whistle Crew Horns Crew, Palacïal, Sass & Vibes.
The festival is a natural progression from what AAJA has strived for and achieved over the past six years. Championing local artists and nurturing homegrown collectives. Following AAJA’s huge story of resilience following the global pandemic and displacement from their first home, the need to gather couldn’t come sooner. Creekside invites the local community, long term supporters, and big time electronic music fans to join them to enjoy the very best of hyperlocal, underground music from DJs and presenters across a wide array of electronic music all day, and all night, with a sprinkling of headliners to top it off.
From its humble beginnings in a tiny arch in Deptford to SE London’s best kept secret indoor outdoor space, The Aaja Snake Pit. Aaja is a space where you can watch and listen to live radio, while enjoying a pint and a toastie. While at the same time ending up having a dance with underground legends like Jeremry Sylvester or Ok Williams.Comments from joint AAJA
