Daily online game for ITV’s Catchphrase, launched…
Distributor All3Media International has announced the launch of a brand new Catchphrase daily online game, available now.
Fans can “say what they see” by visiting the website to play a different game each day. The online game coincides with the launch of the ninth series of Celebrity Catchphrase which began over the weekend on ITV1 and STV (31 August), with broadcaster Fern Britton, singer and presenter Kéllé Bryan and Emmerdale star Dominic Brunt featuring in the first episode of the new series.
Produced by STV Studios, Catchphrase sees long-time host Stephen Mulhern challenge contestants to “say what they see” as they try to identify the correct catchphrase from a series of animations featuring the iconic Mr Chips.
Stephen Mulhern is now the longest-running UK host of the show
Stephen Mulhern:
“For many years, fans have loved playing the Catchphrase board game at home with their friends and families. Now with the launch of the Catchphrase website, fans can test their Catchphrase skills against players all over the country!”
The online game has been created by Two Way Media, the developer behind the successful Catchphrase and Lingo mobile apps. The Catchphrase app is available for free on Apple and Android devices, and to date, these catchphrases have been solved more than 54 million times.
In addition to the online games, Catchphrase board and card games have been amongst the most popular games on the market for years, bringing the show, launched originally in the UK by TVS for ITV, into homes across the UK.

On-screen, Catchphrase has remained a family favourite for nearly 40 years, with Stephen Mulhern now the longest-serving host of the format, with comedian Roy Walker in second place who was also the original host from 1986 to 1999. Created in the US by Pasetta Productions Inc. and Steven Radosh, the show has since been produced in nine countries, including Australia, Vietnam, Italy and Poland.
