Emmerdale star Jurell Carter is set to leave the soap after five years.
Jurell’s character, Nate Robinson, will bow out on screen in a ‘major storyline’ later this year, The Sun reports.
A source told the paper:
“Nate has been at the centre of some huge storylines and his exit will be no different. It will be dramatic and explosive and will go down in Emmerdale history. It won’t be one to miss.”
The actor joined the cast of the soap in 2019, playing mysterious farmhand Nate who embarked upon a passionate affair with Cain Dingle’s wife Moira (Natalie J. Robb).
It was revealed that Nate was actually Cain’s (Jeff Hordley) long-lost son from a previous relationship, seeking revenge for his father’s abandonment.
Nate went on to find love with Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), and together they welcomed their daughter Frankie. However, their relationship faced challenges when Nate had a one-night stand, leading to a temporary break.
Despite reconciling and getting married, their relationship was shattered once again when Tracy had an affair with Nate’s uncle, Caleb Miligan (William Ash).
The Sun’s source added:
“Jurell has loved being on the soap but he’s a young actor and it’s understandable he wants to spread his wings. He’s got a lot of talent – not to mention the looks – to become a big star and leaving the soap is the only way he can do that.”
Recently, other actors such as Emile John, Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana, and Lewis Cope have also left the show. The Sun has ridiculously referred to Jurell’s departure as a ‘sex crisis’, highlighting the diminishing number of attractive actors on the show.
A spokeswoman for the ITV soap declined to comment.
