John Swallow reported from the village of Bodenham in Herefordshire where landlord of the 16th century England’s Gate Inn, Tony Shelley perpetuated the spirit of Christmas throughout the year in the pub.
Shelley explained that he was challenging bad luck for leaving them up after 12th night. John spoke to some of the customers who like the idea.
It clearly proved not to be bad luck for the landlord or the pub as the venue continues to operate in 2024 – although the festive decorations are confined to Christmas time.
