Pick of the Plots: Thursday 16th May

Whitney panics as she faces giving birth in the taco van when Lauren’s phone battery dies and their desperate cries for help go unanswered. Zack attempts to look for Whitney but he is soon distracted by the entertainment at the sten-do.

Meanwhile, Tommy attempts to play matchmaker between Kat and Alfie.

Elsewhere, Nugget continues to questions his friendships after a run-in with Penny and an awkward encounter with Ebony at the Boxing Den. He pleads with Denzel to give him steroids wrongly assuming they are the answer.

Tom is furious to find Belle chatting to Lydia and Mandy on the puppy cam. The three playfully tease Tom behind his back, unaware that he’s furiously listening to every word.

When Tom arrives home unexpectedly, Belle is relieved to find that he’s pleasant to Mandy and Lydia but worries whether he’s being genuine.

Tom’s mood turns menacing when they leave and Belle finds herself in a terrifying situation when Tom turns on her once again.

Meanwhile, Gabby and Vinny enjoy each other’s company in the Hide. Vinny misreads the situation and kisses Gabby but is mortified when it becomes clear that she doesn’t feel the same.

Emmerdale, ITV1, tonight at 7.30pm

It’s the day of the interviews for Hollyoaks’ new headteacher, with Nancy, John Paul and Sally all in the running.

John Paul is unsettled and doesn’t seem in a good place for his interview. He shares his fears with Sally that Carter is back. At school, a bloodied Gareth turns up and confirms to John Paul that Carter is to blame – he got bail and is planning something.

Meanwhile, Zain continues to push his recovery and tells Misbah that he is determined to get them back on track.

Elsewhere, Frankie has a dance recital, but tells JJ she won’t perform if he is there. At the market, Donny catches Frankie stealing cash from the float. He’s persuaded by Mercedes and Maxine to let her off.
