Ryan Sampson – best known for Brassic and Plebs – authors and stars in the brand-new Sky Original comedy series, Mr Bigstuff.
“Mr Bigstuff is a relatable, irreverent comedy about brotherhood, manhood and carpet sales in Essex. When two estranged brothers Glen (Ryan Sampson) and Lee (Danny Dyer) find themselves under one roof in “idyllic” suburbia, their lives start to unravel faster than a cheap carpet.“ – Sky Max
The series follows estranged brothers, Glen and Lee, who try to patch up a sibling rivalry that may well be beyond repair. Danny Dyer makes his Sky comedy debut, making it a must-watch for any fans of the cockney actor who is best known in recent years for his role in BBC One soap EastEnders as Mick Carter who is currently missing and presumed dead having been washed out to sea.
The six-part comedy explores broken families, fragile masculinity and carpet sales. It tells the story of two estranged brothers; Glen a nervy perfectionist striving to live the suburban ideal and Lee an alpha male with a prescription drug addiction and a biscuit tin full of his Dad’s ashes.
Glen and his fiancée share a perfect, perfectly mundane life together. Sure, Glen’s got crippling erectile dysfunction and Kirsty has a secret shoplifting habit, but they’re happy. That is until Lee comes crashing into their lives, whilst on the run from a past that’s quickly catching up with him.
The trio are forced together: a perfectionist, a fantasist and an anarchist all living under the same roof in an Essex cul-de-sac. It’s not long before their ‘perfect’ lives start to unravel faster than a cheap carpet. Joining Ryan and Danny are Harriet Webb, Adrian Scarborough, Fatiha El Ghorri, Ned Dennehy, Victoria Alcock, Geoff Bell, Nitin Ganatra and Judi Love.
All episodes of Mr Bigstuff will be available on Sky Max and streaming service NOW this July.
