More4 to follow the work of rural GPs

More4 has commissioned new medical series GPs: Treating Rural Britain from Curve Media…

The series takes an intimate look at what life is like for the medical teams serving Britain’s remote and rural communities.

Across six episodes, the series will feature eight different practices from some of the wildest and most remote locations in Britain. Meeting the NHS teams who serve these communities, the programme documents the different challenges they face and the unique cases they treat. Capturing patient consultations at the surgery, as well as filming home visits and the emergency response cases that see the GP venture out into the community.

Combining moving human interest medical stories with bigger picture revelations about primary care in rural Britain today, GPs: Treating Rural Britain will shine a light on the wider problems being faced by many GPs, in some of the most striking settings to be found anywhere in the world.
