The experts at Titan Travel have analysed search data around the most searched for filming destinations worldwide, to determine the ultimate destinations for film enthusiasts! Tam Coc, Vietnam, takes the crown as the most popular cinematic destination, with Google searches surging by 132% in 2023. Located in the Ninh Binh province, Tam Coc gained recognition for its feature in ‘Kong: Skull Island (2017)’ where its caves served as one of the filming locations representing Skull Island.
Kenting National Park, Taiwan is the second most popular cinematic site, with a 104% rise in Google searches in 2023. As well as being one of Taiwan’s most-loved national parks, Kenting National Park gained its place on the silver screen with its feature in the Oscar-winning film, Life of Pi (2012). The coastal landscapes and pristine waters present the perfect tropical paradise for both film enthusiasts and tourists.
Adana, Turkey, ranks third among the most popular cinematic hotspots, boasting a 62% rise in search results in 2023. Renowned not only for its historical significance but also for its cinematic allure, Adana’s Varda Viaduct Bridge was given the spotlight during Skyfall (2012), the best-selling film in the James Bond franchise.
Also Tokyo, Japan, is the most Instagram-famous filming location, with 64.8M hashtagged posts. The capital city is home to numerous blockbuster hits such as Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift (2003) while Los Angeles, California, is the top-trending cinematic site on TikTok, with 54.3B views. Being the home of Hollywood, Los Angeles is featured in numerous blockbusters, from Blade Runner (1982) to La La Land (2016).
