Renegade Nell is set in England, 1705. Framed for murder and on the run with her sisters, Nell Jackson turns her hand to highway robbery to survive. Aided by her superpowered sidekick, a plucky little sprite called Billy Blind, Nell realises that fate has put her on the wrong side of the law for a reason, a reason much bigger than she could have ever imagined: to defeat a magical plot against the Queen of England.
Discussing her lead role in the show, Louisa Harland said she felt “very lucky” to have gotten the part. “I know it’s called Renegade Nell, you know, title track of the album, but it’s all about the cast! You couldn’t have dreamt up a better cast, or nicer people, we really did have the craic”.
Asking Nick Mohammed about his role as Billy Blind in the series, host Laura Whitmore remarked that Billy is “small but bigger than life”, to which Nick joked “not unlike me!” Nick continued, “I just felt so grateful to Louisa, because for so long [she] just had a ping pong ball on a stick [to act opposite]..”
The series is produced by Lookout Point. Disney+ is available from £4.99 per month – with no hidden costs and the ability to cancel anytime.
