This week in Erinsborough…
While out drinking, Mackenzie and Holly are surprised to learn that Sadie has never had sex with anyone. Sadie’s reasoning is perfectly sound. She wants her first time to be with someone she loves.
The problem is, that person doesn’t seem to exist. Which is annoying because she’s more than ready for a sex life. Seeing Sadie interacting with Byron, Holly comes up with an idea. What if Sadie set her targets on Byron?
Toadie’s worried he’s really screwed things up with Terese. She hasn’t come home and won’t answer his calls. But when she finally does, things don’t go any better. Despite Toadie’s attempts at apologising, Terese isn’t interested in hearing it. She’s hurt and wants him to understand that. Is it too late for Toadie to redeem himself?
Andrew’s criminal brother, Felix, is due for parole, but to help him to get it, he wants to stay with Andrew when he’s released from prison. Wendy’s supportive, but Andrew’s forced to admit he’s worried Felix might have done something in the past which is now playing on his mind. Wendy insists Andrew ask Felix outright, so Andrew heads to the prison, and after reassurance from Felix, Andrew agrees to let his brother stay if his parole application is successful.
After getting Sadie’s blessing to invite his brother Felix to live with them, there is seemingly nothing holding Andrew back from taking the plunge. When Felix discovers he has Andrew’s support, he’s overwhelmed and appreciative, promising to stay on the straight and narrow…
Sadie is considering Holly’s suggestion to lose her virginity to Byron. He’s sweet, very experienced, and a good friend. But when the time comes to pop the big question, Sadie can’t bring herself to ask, realising she may be throwing away a wonderful friendship all in the pursuit of getting physical.
JJ is determined not to show Dex he’s afraid of Slade. But when Slade shows up at school, JJ realizes the threats are very real. When the brothers later walk to the complex, they’re once again confronted by Slade and his gang, putting JJ in a world of trouble…
In the wake of being punched, JJ swallows down his shame and embarrassment. When Dex returns, JJ firmly asserts that they’re not to breathe a word of Slade’s attack to anyone. Despite plastering on a calm front, JJ later swipes a sharp chef’s knife from Harold’s, an impulsive choice for self-protection. When Cara pays JJ an unexpected check-in at school, JJ scrambles to hide the knife. As she ushers him to class, JJ’s forced to leave behind the knife, stashed high up between the lockers and a wall.
Pressure mounts for Jane and Terese as the Education Department site visit gets underway.
Knowing the Department has the power to pull the pin, Jane is determined for them to be on their A-game, and more so when she learns Slade’s cronies have been hanging around the school. However, distracted by the tension with Toadie, Terese’s corporate armour falters when the Department raises its concerns, including the lack of deviation between the construction and school boundary. Things head further south when Curtis finds JJ’s stashed knife and enacts a lockdown. While a panicked Dex assumes the knife is Slade’s, the Department Head turns on an unsuspecting Terese, hoping the construction equipment has been securely stashed, or risk more serious security breaches.
As Paul remains wrapped in grief, Krista continues to butt heads with Chelsea who lords her new power as acting manager. When Chelsea overhears Toadie mentioning David’s will, she sets out to find Paul’s will and is thrown to discover a bequest for Terese, despite the divorce. Krista’s suspicions are raised when she finds Chelsea snooping in Paul’s office.
With Aaron MIA, Leo offers his support to Nicolette, who’s thrown when Leo reveals Aaron is coming home the next day. Resentful and skeptical, Nicolette relays that she’s not about to get Isla’s hopes up in case Aaron changes his mind.
The knife discovered at the school is found to be a commercial kitchen knife, creating an element of doubt as to whether it was brought in by the gang. Lana from the Department leaves, undecided on what the consequences of this will be without knowing the full story. Jane is frustrated Terese couldn’t be more help with Lana.
On a mission to solve where the knife came from, Andrew discovers it went missing from Harold’s during the lunch rush and interrogates JJ, Dex and Nell who were on the scene.
Despite JJ’s covering, his guilt gets the better of him and he later confesses to stealing the knife, copping an official warning from Andrew and suspension from school. When Dex questions what will happen to Slade for assaulting JJ, Andrew admits it will be difficult to charge him given there were no other witnesses, leaving JJ’s fear of Slade unabated.
Chelsea is making the most of being in charge at the hotel and shuts Krista down when she questions a large order for her signature scent. Careful to control the narrative, Chelsea brings up her perfume order with Paul who is surprised but doesn’t have the heart to argue. When Chelsea witnesses Paul and Terese sharing a moment of solidarity at Josh’s plaque, she’s frustrated and proceeds to interrupt their heartfelt catch-up.
Aaron arrives home after being AWOL but is greeted with irritation from Nicolette, who remains stubborn in her feelings even after Aaron offers an apology. When Aaron brings up the time she took off to Canberra while pregnant, Nicolette starts to soften, absorbing that they can all do selfish things to cope. Aaron insists he wants to make things up to her.
