Sky News announces Matt Barbet joining as a regular presenter...
Barbet is an experienced broadcaster and journalist familiar to audiences for his work in many of the UK’s leading newsrooms over the last two decades. He has anchored news programmes for ITV, the BBC and Channel 5 the latter saw him as one of the network’s longest-serving presenters.

Matt has covered many of the world’s biggest stories in recent years. He was embedded in Afghanistan with British armed forces during the war, witnessed the effects of the Haiti earthquake and terror attacks in the UK and France, and covered general elections from Downing Street and the White House. He has also interviewed world leaders, royalty and icons of sport and entertainment.
He started his career working for ITN – who produce ITV News, Channel 4 News and 5 News – before moving to BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat.

Starting on Sky News this weekend Matt will be covering the Breakfast show, he will also present across the week, standing in on the News Hour from 5pm, The UK Tonight from 8pm weekdays and Sky News Today, among other shows.
Matt will also present a weekly Sunday show from 10am-2pm, that follows Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips, with all the day’s big stories and interviews. Prior to joining Sky, Matt consulted for leading UK public relations firm Freuds.
