Stephen Mulhern to join Holly Willoughby on Dancing On Ice

Holly Willoughby is to continue hosting Dancing On Ice with Stephen Mulhern as her new co-host.

Confirming the news, Katie Rawcliffe, head of entertainment commissioning at ITV, said:

“Holly and Stephen are two of our best loved presenters, so reuniting them 20 years after they first appeared on screen together to host Dancing on Ice marks the start of an exciting year for the show.”

Mulhern replaces Phillip Schofield who co-presented the show with Willoughby between 2006-2011 and 2018-2022.

In May, Schofield admitted that he’d had an “unwise, but not illegal” affair with a young runner on This Morning before ‘resigning’ from ITV.

Willoughby’s own future on Dancing On Ice became the subject of speculation when she too left This Morning in October.

She resigned from the ITV daytime show after 14 years when it emerged that a man had been arrested for trying to kidnap her.

She said at the time: “This is such a difficult goodbye. I feel I have to make this decision for me and my family.”

Mulhern previously worked with Willoughby on the CITV show Ministry of Mayhem between 2004-2006. He presented the spin-off show Dancing On Ice – Defrosted between 2006-2007.

Dancing On Ice is set to return to ITV next month with a cast including Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford, actor Ryan Thomas, ex-Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts and boxing legend Ricky Hatton.
