Jack tries to make amends with Denise, but she is furious with him for using Amy’s mental health to blackmail her.

Later, Stacey tries to interfere in Jack’s relationship troubles.

Meanwhile, the Walford carol concert is in jeopardy when Kim loses her voice, but Howie steps up after some words of encouragement from Patrick.

Elsewhere, Linda takes control of a situation.

Also, Jay listens to a recorded message from Lola and is surprised by what he hears.

EastEnders, BBC One, 7.30pm

Desperate to get away from his problems and Tony’s threats, Ed secretly packs a bag and tells Aggie that he will be joining her in Birmingham for Christmas.

As Ed opens the front door, he comes face to face with Tony, who menacingly barges his way into the house. Ed’s phone rings with a call from Aggie, and Tony threatens to tell her everything. Ed makes a grab for the phone, but Tony punches him, knocking him to the floor.

Later, the Baileys return home to find Ed nursing a cut lip and all of their Christmas presents gone. As they report the burglary to Craig, Ed claims he forgot to lock the back door.

Meanwhile, Carla offers to accompany Peter to a support group meeting. Peter opens up about his lack of interest in life, and Carla is heartbroken to realise the depth of his despair.

Later, when Carla shows him the Christmas present that she has bought for Peter, Michael’s flabbergasted.

Elsewhere, Jenny and Daisy hope to secure a bank loan to buy the Rovers. Jenny explains to Daisy that they will have to submit a sealed bid for the pub as there is other interest.

Coronation Street, ITV1, 8pm

Marlon is lacking patience for his new house guests.

Meanwhile, Caleb assures Tracy that Nicky will keep their secret.

Elsewhere, Bob presses for gossip on Heath’s date with Angelica.

Emmerdale, ITV1, 7.30pm

It’s Christmas day in the village. Tony is set on opening up The Dog, but a call from a stressed Darren puts the celebrating on hold.

Darren tells Tony the contract he signed with Norma means if he doesn’t pay up by the end of the day, she can take his house from him. Wanting to help his friend, Tony starts a community fund.

Meanwhile, Leah discovers a bruise on Lucas’ head and tells Ste that Lucas is fighting again. Not wanting to be around his family, Lucas runs off and bumps into Dillon.

Ste tries to comfort James, who he presumes is struggling without Juliet.

As Dillon tries to get him to open up, Lucas throws up from the booze he has been drinking. Dillon tries to help Lucas.

Elsewhere, Ella goes round to say Merry Christmas to Warren and Norma. Warren gives his daughter a pair of red boots as her Christmas present.

Over at the McQueens’, Nana is worried that Mercedes may never come home. Missing her granddaughter, Nana goes to Warren’s and slaps him, blaming him for Mercedes’s disappearance.
