Following his victory in last night’s final of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, one bookies has plans for Sam Thompson…
William Hill make Sam Thompson a strong contender to assume hosting duties on This Morning. The newly crowned King of the Jungle is 4/6 to guest host or permanently host on the troubled daytime series between now and the end of 2024, whilst he is 3/1 to permanently host a TV show with fellow finalist Tony Bellew.
The Made in Chelsea Star is meanwhile 8/1 to join next year’s cast on Strictly Come Dancing.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps:
“Sam Thompson’s reign as King of the Jungle may still be in its infancy, but we’re already looking ahead to what lies in store next for the Made in Chelsea star. Sam is heavily fancied at 4/6 to appear as a host on ITV’s This Morning between now and the end of next year, whilst he is 3/1 to take his bromance with Tony Bellew into a professional capacity and host a TV show together in 2024.
“The I’m A Celebrity winner is meanwhile 8/1 to follow in his girlfriend Zara McDermott’s footsteps and take to the Strictly ballroom next year.”
Last week ITV revealed findings from an ITV-commissioned report into ‘toxic’ alligations within ITV Daytime and This Morning. Despite speaking to nearly 50 ITV staff and former staff, as well as public criticism from names such as Carol McGiffin, Eamonn Holmes and Ranj Singh the findings answered nothing and were branded a ‘whitewash.’
Meanwhile the ‘Nigel Farage effect’ which had seen ratings down for this series of I’m A Celebrity appear to have continued the trend with four million less turning into the final this year from 2022’s offering. However, the show still pulled in an impressive 7.6 million.
TV Critic Vivian Summers:
“GB News and Farage keep going on about the ‘silent majority’ in the UK. Well, seems despite GB News plugging for people to vote Nige to win I’m A Celeb, they stayed silent – or they don’t exist. There has also been a lot of complaints about the show being ‘rigged’. It obviously isn’t, but ‘free app’ voting has changed the results of all shows that use it, probably not for the better.”
