Karen and Tyler are drawn to each other in River City

This week in Shieldinch…

MONDAY

Two lovers scorned, Karen and Tyler are drawn to each other while Lenny is forced to consider a beneficial deal by Victoria and Andrew grows increasingly paranoid as his control over Scarlett wanes.

Jealous to discover Karen’s moving on, Alex goes out of his way to scupper her dating life. When her latest date is a no-show, Karen finds herself confiding in Tyler and admits she has her suspicions about her ex.

Tyler’s quick to reassure Karen she’s too good for Alex. Although there’s an obvious spark between the two of them, it proves short-lived when it dawns on Karen that Alex has been meddling in her love life. At the Tall Ship, Karen confronts Alex, making it clear there’s no way back for them. It’s over. Feeling empowered, Karen seduces Tyler as the scorned lovers give in to temptation.

Elsewhere, with Scarlett finally out of hospital, Lenny revisits his revenge plans against Andrew. To his surprise, Victoria lies to Lenny that Andrew is responsible for Callum being taken into care, hiding the truth it was her idea.

Victoria offers to get the evidence against Callum retracted in return for Lenny leaving Andrew alone. Sceptical about her true intentions, Lenny urges Lydia to realise it’s better the devil you know in order to bring Callum back home to his family.

Madonna is delighted when Scarlett is discharged from the hospital. However, watching the O’Hara’s grow close again unsettles Andrew who fears he’s losing his controlling grip over her.

Andrew grows increasingly paranoid as Scarlett takes less notice of his controlling

WEDNESDAY

Maggie’s thrilled when Sonny reveals he’s been sober for a week, however, Caitlin remains pessimistic. Sonny assures her he’s turned a corner and is focused on a new future without drink.

However, when he receives a letter informing him he’ll get compensation for Lou’s death, Sonny is stunned. He goes to the police station and speaks to DCI Shaw, making it explicitly clear he doesn’t want to benefit from the death of his daughter.

Grief-stricken and angry, Sonny finds himself drawn to drinking again. Maggie does her best to support Sonny but, instead, he asks her to join him for a drink. Maggie stands firm – realising she’s on the brink of going down a dark path if she accepts.

Elsewhere, Alex’s first therapy session with Roisin gets off to a rocky start when he’s defensive and dishonest about his past. Suspecting Alex is only doing this to win Karen back, Roisin encourages Alex to seek support from his loved ones. However, Lenny and Amber are quick to mock his therapy sessions. Worse still, Karen drops a devastating bombshell.

Sam invites Armand on to Shieldinch Radio to raise his business profile. When Armand bravely opens up about his troubled past, the reaction from the locals proves powerful and rewarding.
