Wednesday in Erinsborough…
Haz is shaken by Mackenzie’s revelation and rainchecks Holly’s date night plans. Opening up to Byron, Haz admits he wishes he had known about Mackenzie’s feelings but is unable to answer how that intel would change things. Later, a well-meaning Byron encourages Holly to speak to Mackenzie or Haz; when Holly wears down his resolve, he cracks and spills all. Unaware that Holly is privy to her feelings, Mackenzie tries to fess up but backs out – leaving Holly unnerved that her friend is hiding the truth.
Later, Mackenzie and Haz agree not to loop Holly in, feeling it would upset her unnecessarily. However, when Mackenzie broaches Haz on why he had such a big reaction to the thought of her and Byron hooking up – they share a charged moment, only for Holly to walk in on the tension.
Elly arrives in Erinsborough, loved up and excited to spend time with Chloe. Chloe delays having the difficult conversation of her Huntington’s progression, even when Elly worries if there is trouble in their relationship. However, when Chloe’s hand goes limp, causing a coffee spill, a confronted Chloe confesses that her health is in decline.
Wendy, Andrew, Terese and Toadie gather for dinner and mini golf. As Melanie’s imminent arrival on the street hangs in the air, Toadie admits to Andrew that he’s taking solace in the short timeframe of the stay. Meanwhile, Terese begins to open up to Wendy about her rocky marriage breakdown with Brad (her ex) before being interrupted. When Wendy calls around the next day, Terese confides that she won’t let a repeat of her jealousy, insecurities and past mistakes undermine her and Toadie – she trusts him wholeheartedly.
However, when Toadie finds confetti remnants from his and Melanie’s street party, he is drawn into a reverie of wedding day bliss that leaves him shaken by powerful memories of the past.
