Scarlett’s condition is uncertain in River City

MONDAY

Following the botched hit on Andrew, Scarlett’s condition is uncertain as her worried family gather at the hospital. Lenny and Lydia are devastated to discover Scarlett has a bleed on the brain and Bob reveals the next 24 hours are crucial for his mum.

At the hospital, Bob and Madonna are on edge with Andrew’s presence proving unsettling. His version of events arouse suspicion, leading to an outburst from Madonna. Worse still, Victoria reveals the police suspect the attack was random, much to Andrew’s frustration. However, Victoria may have ulterior motives for making her brother feel paranoid and insecure.

Elsewhere, Maggie is horrified to discover a desperate Nicole’s new seedy line of work. Keen to throw her a lifeline, Maggie offers Nicole a job with her cleaning company. Initially horrified at the prospect, Nicole realises Maggie’s giving her the chance to be the bigger person and silence Tyler’s putdowns.

Gillian struggles to hide her true feelings for Jonathon after discovering he’s now involved in Mikey’s podcast. Roisin advises to leave well alone but, back at home, Gillian makes it clear to Jonathon she thinks he’s muscling in on his boyfriend’s venture. Mikey later confronts Gillian, stirring up tension between the friends.

Maggie is deeply troubled to discover the extent of Sonny’s drinking, Caitlin demands he takes a breathalyser.

WEDNESDAY

Caitlin grows concerned after Sam reveals a grief-stricken Sonny’s been drinking heavily. With her mum’s recovery at the forefront of her mind, Caitlin’s adamant Sonny’s behaviour can’t go on.

When she sees a clearly hungover Sonny about to get into his car, Caitlin demands he takes a breathalyser. However, when he refuses, she issues an ultimatum – do it or the police will.

Maggie is deeply troubled to discover the extent of Sonny’s drinking but is defensive when Caitlin bluntly insists an intervention is needed. Worse still, she tells Sonny she thinks he could be a bad influence on Maggie and publicly humiliates him in the Tall Ship.

Elsewhere, at the hospital, Bob and Madonna watch over Scarlett who is still unconscious following the attack. Andrew’s arrival stirs up resentment as Madonna makes it clear he’s not welcome. Annoyed at how rude Madonna’s being, the siblings clash.

Later, Bob is irked when Bernie and Mikey turn up unannounced, leading to a furious outburst by Madonna, leaving Bob crushed by her cruel words.

Angus comes to Amber’s rescue when she has to put together a last-minute council presentation on sustainability. The encounter brings the unlikely pairing together and leaves Angus smiling.
