On this Day 1960: Noele Gordon visits Lea Hall Colliery for Lunch Box

Lunch Box the ITV Daytime magazine show broadcast live each weekday from Birmingham hosted by Noele Gordon saw her take on another one of her ‘have a go’ challenges on this day.

Tasked with becoming a coal miner for the day Noele Gordon visited Lea Hall Colliery near Rugeley in Staffordshire to fulfil her mission.

Noele is seen entering the mine cage and descending into a coal mine, dressed in miner gear. There are also views of miners using the showers and Noele gets a cup of tea in the mine canteen – served by her mother Joan Gordon.
