Success for Channel 5’s ‘Vanished’ series as missing teens found

Two missing teenagers who were featured in an appeal on live Channel 5 show Vanished have been found.

The teenagers who were featured on last night’s episode of Vanished: The Search for Britain’s Missing have now been found. Daniel Wawrzynczak (15) spoke to the police after seeing an appeal on the programme after being missing for two weeks. Grace Fisher (16) who had been missing for almost a month, has also now been found.

Daniel Wawrzynczak, 15, went missing from his home in Chadshunt in Warwickshire on Monday the 23rd October. He went to a police station in London after seeing an appeal on the programme, which was presented by Dan Walker, on 8th November.

Grace Fisher, 16, from Gillingham in Kent went missing on Friday the 13th of October. Kent Police have now confirmed she has been found safe and well in Camden. Detective Chief Inspector Jonathan Faulkner from Kent Police had appeared on Vanished urging people to help them find her.

Dan Walker:

“This is great news, we are so relieved that these teenagers have been found and are now safe and well. The aim of Vanished is to help families who’s loved ones have gone missing and we are just pleased that we have been able to do that, working closely with Missing People and Police around the UK. We are all really proud to be working on a programme that has a real purpose and is making a real impact on peoples’ lives.”

Missing People, the partner charity on Vanished, has revealed that it has been receiving a record number of calls since the series returned to Channel 5 on Wednesday 1st November. During this week’s episode they again took one call every minute, with the helpline continuing to be very busy after the broadcast. Calls included several calls with information about Daniel and also about missing chef Claudia Lawrence, who disappeared from York almost 15 years ago, and also featured in this week’s programme. The charity said they would be passing that information onto police.

Chief Executive Jo Youle:

“The response to the show has been astonishing. We have reported sightings of people who have gone missing and have also been able to help people who are either missing right now or thinking of going missing, as well as families worried about their loved ones.”

Vanished: The Search for Britain’s missing will return for a further two episodes on 15th and 22nd November at 8pm.
