Man questioned over alleged plot to kidnap Holly Willoughby

Detectives are questioning a 36-year-old man in connection with an alleged plot to kidnap Holly Willoughby.

Police are reportedly keeping an eye on the London home of the This Morning presenter, who pulled out of the show on Thursday.

According to The Sun, the presenter made a last-minute decision not to go on air after bosses learned about the alleged plot on Thursday morning.

Essex Police said a suspect was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap and is in custody.

“A 36-year-old man from Harlow has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap as part of an ongoing investigation. The arrest was made on Wednesday, October 4. He is currently in custody.”

It is believed that the suspect is not known to the star.

Willoughby’s ITV colleague Lorraine Kelly addressed the story on Friday’s edition of her programme, saying it was “very, very upsetting”.
