A bomb is sent to Marilyn in Home and Away
This week in Summer Bay…
MONDAY
Justin is shaken after receiving Andrew’s note – they have to get him away from Vita Nova.
Leah pleads with Justin to exercise caution and talk to Cash before acting. They know what Margot and Vita Nova are capable of. When Cash fronts up to the Morgan house without word from Justin, Leah shows him the note. Has Justin gone to rescue Andrew alone?
Cash heads to the compound where he comes face to face with Margot and Andrew. Margot is crystal clear – if Cash doesn’t have a warrant, she’ll report him for trespassing. He has to leave. Cash complies and heads away from the compound, but unbeknownst to him an injured Justin lies just out of sight. As Cash reports back to Leah that there’s no sign of Justin or his car, Justin is taunted by Margot at the compound. “You need to let me go”, he reasons.
While the cunning cult leader has other ideas, Andrew eventually comes to Justin’s rescue – he may have to stay there, but Justin needs to get away and never come back. It looks like Justin is going to escape unscathed when he suddenly cops an arrow to the thigh. Have Vita Nova got him right where they want him? Xander has reached out to Kate again – he wants to talk. Mackenzie and Rose worry that he’s getting too involved but he’s determined to support his mate’s widow. Kate lets Xander know he doesn’t need to keep showing up for her, but Xander is steadfast: If she needs a friend, he’s here. As the final box from Stunning Organics is shuffled around the Bay, the residents are blissfully unaware that the latest shipment contains a bomb intended for Marilyn…
TUESDAY
Justin scrambles to escape Vita Nova, even with an arrow now lodged in his thigh, but it isn’t long before Margot intercepts. Leah has reported Justin missing and Cash has an update: they’ve put a trace on his phone – they should be able to find him soon.
At the compound, Andrew rushes to Justin’s aid, and Justin begs for him to call an ambulance. Mustering all his courage, Andrew picks a lock to secure Justin’s phone and makes a desperate call to Leah – please send help. Cash and the Taskforce storm the compound just in time – Andrew leads the paramedics to Justin while Margot is arrested, and boxes of evidence are hauled away by police. When Justin is rushed to hospital, he’s gone into shock, and Bree rushes to save his life.
When Margot is carted past Andrew on her way to a psych assessment, she rants and raves over his betrayal, and it’s clear from a rattled Andrew’s response that the impact of the cult on him will be long lasting. He’s supported by a protective Leah, who slaps Margot across the face when she rails at Andrew again. Kate once again leans on Xander after a fight with Timothy’s mum, and Bree clocks the fraught dynamic between them.
When she raises that she and Mackenzie have discussed it, Xander dismisses her, and later snaps at Mackenzie in Salt. He’s going to support Kate and no one can stop him. Marilyn is buzzing as the interview requests roll in following her latest social media post against Stunning Organics, and it’s only a matter of time before she flushes out that CEO! As she picks up the final box of dodgy cosmetics, Marilyn muses to Roo that the CEO won’t know what hit him, unaware that the final box includes an explosives device and that she is the intended target!
WEDNESDAY
Anticipation amps up for Battle of the Bands as Lyrik are in full rehearsal mode, but Bree finds herself battling with Mercedes for Remi’s attention. She allows him to focus on the band – she knows how important tomorrow is – but privately she’s irked. Eden, however, has no qualms about taking Remi to task – he’s neglecting his girlfriend, and he’s missing what’s going on under his nose. Remi takes the opportunity to smooth things over with Bree. He reassures her, he only has eyes for her. Justin counsels Theo from his hospital bed over Theo’s nerves about the performance. He’s performed in front of a crowd before, he’ll be fine. On the day however, Theo finds himself having a pre-performance panic spew.
Mercedes does nothing to allay his stage fright, but Felicity gives him a stirring pep talk: Everyone knows what a great performer he is. She knows they’ll be great.
As Bree and Felicity bust out moves to Lyrik’s performance, they leave their drinks unattended, and a hidden figure pours a vial of something into Felicity’s drink. Feeling woozy, Felicity heads for some air, but as her vision starts to lapse, she stumbles on the stairs, and soon she’s lying unconscious on the floor… Marilyn is excited about being free of Stunning Organics forever, but she doesn’t realise she’s unknowingly offloaded the explosive-laden cosmetics box on John. Will he survive his trip to the tip with a bomb on board?
THURSDAY
Lyrik are ecstatic following a killer set at Battle of the Bands, especially when they win the audience prize. As the band celebrate with Bree, Felicity’s absence earns only a passing observation – she’s probably bailed to reunite with Tane, like she said she might. But Tane has returned home and is trying to reach Felicity – her phone is ringing, but she can’t answer.
When Eden tries to call, an unconscious Felicity stirs. She’s terrified – what happened to her while she was out cold? When she finally emerges, she collapses. Something is seriously wrong.
As Eden and Bree take Felicity to hospital, Lyrik solemnly withdraw from the Battle of the Bands contest – they can’t go on given the circumstances. At hospital, as Felicity recounts what happened to her, she asks the inevitable question of Bree: ‘Do you think someone put something in my drink?’. After some gentle probing from Bree and with Eden by her side, she admits she thinks she may have been sexually assaulted. She doesn’t want the police involved, but she allows Bree to perform a forensic exam. Afterwards, she breaks down in Eden’s arms. Remi has broken the heartbreaking news to Tane and he anxiously waits to collect his wife while Eden consoles her inside. Felicity has one request for Eden: Please don’t tell Cash what happened. Eden doesn’t agree, but she promises.
As Tane and Eden take Felicity home, both are shattered for her, and Tane explodes at Eden: “You’re supposed to be her friend. How could you let this happen to her?”. Eden is devastated – she already hates herself enough.
FRIDAY
Tane apologises to Eden for blaming her for Felicity’s assault. While he tries to get Felicity to talk about what happened to her, Eden is evasive with Cash over the real reason they didn’t win Battle of the Bands. Felicity again stresses to Tane: Cash cannot know about the assault. As she frets over the amount of times he’s warned her to be careful, it’s clear she’s blaming herself, and she’s certain Cash will too. Tane can’t get through to her right now, but when she asks him to hold her, he does. When she talks to Felicity later, Eden warns her – Cash knows something is wrong. Felicity is adamant though – She doesn’t want her brother to know. Eden tells Felicity that she’s underestimating Cash. Can she convince her to confide in him?
When Cash meets Felicity on the beach the next day, she struggles to tell him the truth about what happened, but ultimately finds the strength. Far from the angry reaction she feared, Cash is supportive and holds his sister close. He’s desperate for her to be okay. When Rose arrives to take her down to the station to make a statement, Eden goes with her. Felicity has the support of those closest to her. Marilyn is still receiving threats from someone over the Stunning Organics saga – a text message warns her she has 24 hours to retract her accusations. Roo is convinced they’re all talk and tells Marilyn to forward the threats to the authorities. She even replies on Marilyn’s behalf” ‘You don’t scare me’.
Is Roo tempting fate by antagonising Marilyn’s mystery enemy? Marilyn is sure the worst is behind her when she receives another threat: “TOO LATE”, just as John and Roo head off with the box containing a bomb! Marilyn panics when she’s sent a photo of the explosive device, and Mali races after John and Roo in his van. They pull over just as he screams at them to get out, and the van explodes. Have John and Roo gotten out in time?
