Bell Media’s CTV Life Channel in Canada has partnered with Parade Media and Abode Entertainment to produce Country House Hunters Canada.
Following the success of Country House Hunters, and its fourth series renewal with Nine Australia, CTV Life Channel has acquired the twenty-episode property series, produced by Abode Entertainment, to air in 2023 in Canada.
Abode has a portfolio of property success stories on stateside and Australian TV – including Million Dollar House Hunters, Find Me A Beach House, Find Your Dream Home and Luxury Homes Revealed – and currently has all three versions of the show in production.
Bell Media’s Sr. Lead of Content Sales & Acquisitions, Brian Blazik:
“We are thrilled to have Country House Hunters Canada join the CTV Life Channel programming lineup; this format has been a success internationally, including on our network, and we are confident episodes will be a welcome addition for our Canadian audiences.”
Country House Hunters helps couples as they embark on their journey to find their perfect country home. Some are looking to change from an urban to rural setting, others from the mountains to farmland, others from inland to the coast. All are shown three houses by the host, each of which are as unique as the buyers themselves and aim to meet their specific guidelines – be that for a cozy hideaway bolt hole, or a grand architectural masterpiece. The series sweeps viewers up in the buyers’ lives as they whittle their choice of three houses down to their dream home.
CTV Life Channel features fan-favourite lifestyle and DIY programming along with food series.
Parade’s CEO, Matthew Ashcroft:
“Gary and the team at Abode have created a wonderful property format for our time, and with the success of the series on Nine and international tape sales to date, the series is set to travel as an original format internationally”.
